South Side homeowners pay the following taxes to the City of Pittsburgh and the School District of Pittsburgh:

- Realty Transfer tax (new property owners)
- Occupational Privilege tax (if you work in the City of Pittsburgh)

Trash Pickup
Trash collection day in most parts of South Side is THURSDAY, with recycling collection every other week, and bulk pick-up every fourth week.
